The Colorado State University school year has just begun and we’re incredibly excited to have a new, amazing group of residents. To kick off a great year at The Standard at Fort Collins, we planned a calendar jam-packed with a variety of residence life events to give our residents and their friends the opportunity to meet and mingle with their neighbors and to enjoy spending time in our luxury amenities.
Week 1 – Bagels For Breakfast
For our first resident event, we held Bagels for Breakfast in our resident lounge. This event was for the first day of school at CSU and we had 100 bagel boxes from Panera for residents grab on their way to class! 100 residents came and enjoyed the delicious bagels on their way to kick start the school year!
Week 2 – Gourmet Popsicles
For our second resident event we bought gourmet popsicles for our residents to enjoy pool side after a long day of classes. We had fun in the sun and brought our frozen treats to residents relaxing in the hot tubs and pool and other residents stopped by after class to say hi and grab a tasty treat to cool off! We had a great turnout of about 50 great residents and their friends!
Week 3 – Bar Night At Brothers’ Bar & Grill
During our third week of resident events, we hosted a bar night at Brothers’ Bar & Grill, a favorite local bar! The first 50 residents who showed up and signed up for our VIP list were able to enjoy a beer on us and the first 100 residents were able to enjoy a free burger! We set up a table at the front of the bar and had burger and beer tickets, t-shirts, and wine coolers to give away! We had a great turnout and gave out almost all of the tickets away – we also received tons of positive feedback from this event.
Week 4 – Pre-Game Pizza Bash
For our fourth resident event, we held a Pre-Game Pizza Bash in our resident lounge before the first home football game of the year! We ordered 20 pizzas for residents who came to show off their game day outfits and grab a slice of pizza on the way to cheer on the Rams! All of the pizza was gone in less than 30 minutes, over 100 of our residents came – they sure were hungry and ready to fuel up before game day festivities!
Week 5 – Meet The Team
Week five, we held a Meet the Team event in our clubhouse and provided wings from Jim’s Wings, a yummy, local wing joint, for our residents! We were able to play arcade games and pool with residents as they got to know our staff better and eat some tasty wings! This was also a popular event and it seemed like the wings had wings since they were flying so fast off of our residents’ plates!
Week 6 – School Supply Drive
Our very last week of our 6 in 6 events, we held a School Supply Drive in our office! In order to collect supplies for local elementary schools, we got a back-to-school themed basket from the CSU bookstore full of school spirit gear! Only a few residents donated since it was a busy week at school, but we still collected plenty of supplies to donate and our bookstore basket winner was so excited!
Our team has had such an amazing time getting to meet our residents over the past 6 weeks. Here at The Standard at Fort Collins, we strive to create the best experience in Colorado State University off campus housing and hosting a variety of awesome resident events is just one part of achieving that.
